They also provide several dual degree programs, which can open up lots of job opportunities outside traditional medicine.
The next medical school is also found in Atlanta, Georgia. The Morehouse School of Medicine ranks very highly in the US News Report for primary care. They offer the MD degree as well as some dual degrees. Included in this are a MD/MSCR (Masters of Science in Clinical Research), for those looking to go into clinical medical research.
Next is the Mercer University School of Medicine. This school has 2 campuses, one in Augusta, GA, and the other in Macon, GA. This school has a policy to only admit legal residents of the state of Georgia. If you are thinking about this school, you will have to move to Georgia at least a full year prior to applying for admission. Many of the graduates go on to work in low income areas.
The Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine is located in Augusta, GA. They offer the MD degree as well as the medical scientist training program's MD/PhD mixture. In the US News, they rank for both Best Primary Care and Best Research school.
The Emory University School of Medicine is located in Atlanta, GA. They offer several different combination degrees based on the Medical doctor degree. They rank in the US News for both Best Primary Care and Best Research.
