There were models which allowed for both doors to slide and there were alternate models which featured one still door while the other moved. The sales clerk said that the doors that both move allow for less difficult cleaning of the shower stall. The shower doors were sold in plastic, fiber glass and glass. The fiber glass permanent shower doors were sold in frosted or clear. There were also models which had mirrors on the side which faced the room. Each model came with framing that might be custom fitted for the shower opening.
We got the doors on the shower which slid past each other in frosted glass. We were nicely surprised at how easy it was to put in the frame and to place the glass doors. The room appeared quite a bit bigger and cleaner without the shower curtain hanging there. We obtained a squeegee to clean the glass shower doors.
We were so satisfied with the glass shower doors in the small bath that we went back to the store and purchased sliding glass doors for the shower/bathtub combo. The framing is fixed to the bathtub and the doors slide on the track. The amount of time it takes to clean the baths is significantly reduced and I don't have to be concerned about mold accruing on the glass permanent shower doors like it did on the plastic lining of the curtains.
